The Langolab Intensive Courses are offered for different levels of proficiency, whereas intermediate courses alternate with beginner courses.
Every block of intensive courses has a duration of two weeks, each day having a full 4 clock hours of instruction. As the groups have a maximum size of nine students, we guarantee you a maximum amount of attention towards your questions and difficulties. This is unlike big mainstream schools where you might happen not to say a word during weeks, as you await your turn among thirty other students. We want you to discover the beauty of language playfulness. Once you approach the German language with a little bit of guidance, you will discover that things turn out to be much easier in daily life. Intensive courses go deep into the basics of German grammar, yet, we will be working on newly acquired grammatical input by connecting it to your own personal context. This means that for everything you learn about the German language we will find authentic and relevant examples and situations they can be applied to. Therefore, we also go on excursions and walks through the neighborhood, work with your own photographs and found material. Langolab means that you enhance your own naive and innate language curiosity in order to discover German with joy and ease.
Beginner classes' focus lies on paving your way to daily life communication. You will learn basic grammatical constructions in non-repetitive exercises. As you probably live in Germany for some time you will be confronted with words, phrases and writing anywhere you go. In the Langolab we will intensively work on your ability to exploit this natural input as good as possible. We give you individualized strategies at hand to autodidactically deepen and strengthen what you learn in the course and not to lose your motivation. Therefore we will especially sharpen your auditive senses, so that your ears become ready to listen, your brain to understand and your mouth to reproduce.
Intermediate classes' focus lies mainly on the internalization of already learned grammar by means of creative application of the language. Of course, you will also learn new and helpful constructions and vocabulary and ingrain them by training your skills of communication. Extending your competence to read and write short texts will prepare you to finally dive into German language as an inspiring source of thought and talk, expression and reflection.
There are no advanced classes offered at the moment. If you are already pretty skillful in expressing yourself but need to work on your textual competence or pronunciation, if you wish to prepare for one of the entrance examinations to German university (TestDaf or DSH), consider taking private lessons.
